About the role
Step-Up Skill Development Academy (SSD Academy), leading a consortium with Reliance Technical Institute (RTI) and Sharif Technical Training Institute (STTI), is implementing competency-based skills training under the ILO-ISEC Project. We are seeking dynamic, certified, and experienced female TDM Trainers (Lead & Junior/Assistant) to deliver National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) and BNQF Level-2 competency-based training in Tailoring & Dress Making. The role also oversees practical batch fabrication at our specialized TDM Production Hubs within host Qwami Madrasah partner centers.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Deliver competency-based training (CBT) modules for Tailoring & Dress Making (BNQF Level-2) in accordance with NSDA standards and course curricula.
- Practical Training & Machine Operations: Guide trainees in manual and industrial sewing machine operations, overlock/flatlock usage, precision fabric cutting, pattern drafting, and neat garment assembly.
- Production Hub & Order Supervision: Supervise trainees during hands-on industry attachment and commercial production batches, including institutional uniform and lab apron manufacturing.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct weekly mandatory formative assessments every Saturday, maintain daily Trainee Record Books (TRB), and prepare learners for final NSDA Summative Assessments.
- Occupational Safety & Health (OSH): Enforce strict workshop safety protocols, proper PPE usage, hazard minimization, and textile waste segregation in line with institutional greening plans.
- Classroom & Learner Management: Maintain daily attendance registers, track individual learner competencies, and cultivate an inclusive, gender-responsive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Educational & Technical Qualifications:
- Lead Trainer: Certified in BNQF Level-2 or Level-3 in Tailoring & Dress Making with NC-IV in CBT&A (Competency-Based Training & Assessment) methodology.
- Junior / Assistant Trainer: Certified in BNQF Level-2 in TDM or Diploma/Vocational Certificate in Fashion Design & Apparel Technology.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of practical training/instructional experience in apparel manufacturing, vocational institutes, or commercial garment production.
- Core Competencies & Skills:
- Advanced Pattern Making, Grading, and Garment Construction.
- Expertise in operating industrial lockstitch, overlock, and buttonhole machines.
- Fabric spreading, cutting marker efficiency, and material costing estimation.
- Familiarity with CBT&A training packages, learner logbooks, and MIS attendance tracking.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and community communication skills suitable for working with female madrasah pre-vocational youth.
