The primary objective of this initiative was to empower underprivileged youth in Cox’s Bazar with practical digital skills, enabling them to participate in the global digital economy through freelancing and online employment opportunities.

A total of 80 trainees (40 in Graphic Design for Freelancing and 40 in Digital Marketing for Freelancing) participated in the program. The project focused on hands-on training, practical assignments, freelancing marketplace guidance, and digital entrepreneurship development.

Through this program, trainees gained industry-relevant skills, portfolio development, freelancing platform knowledge, and digital marketing strategies that can help them generate sustainable income online.

This initiative significantly contributed to digital inclusion, youth empowerment, and employment generation in the Cox’s Bazar region.

Project Background

Bangladesh has experienced significant growth in the digital economy and freelancing sector. However, many underprivileged youth, especially in regions like Cox’s Bazar, lack access to structured training programs that can prepare them for online work opportunities.

Cox’s Bazar is home to thousands of young individuals who possess potential but face challenges such as:

  • Lack of technical skills

  • Limited employment opportunities

  • Lack of access to digital training

  • Limited awareness of freelancing platforms

To address these challenges, the Hands-on Skill Development Program for Internet-Based Applications to Empower Underprivileged Youth was designed to provide market-relevant digital skills training.

The 2nd Phase of the program expanded the initiative by training 80 youth participants in two highly demanded freelancing sectors:

  • Graphic Design

  • Digital Marketing

These skills are globally demanded and allow individuals to work remotely through platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer, and PeoplePerHour.
