Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET)

Project Overview

The Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) Project is a national skills development initiative undertaken by the Government of Bangladesh to strengthen the country's workforce and support economic transformation through industry-relevant skills training.

The project is funded by The World Bank and implemented under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division (TMED), Ministry of Education (MoE). The initiative aims to improve the quality, accessibility, and relevance of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) across Bangladesh.

The project is implemented through the Industry Skills Council Implementing Committee (ISIC) in collaboration with approved Skills Training Providers (STPs). SSD Academy has been selected as an official Skills Training Provider (STP) to implement this project in Cox’s Bazar and Moheshkhali, providing competency-based skills training aligned with the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF).

Through the ASSET project, SSD Academy aims to equip young people with practical technical skills, freelancing abilities, and creative industry competencies that enable them to access employment opportunities, develop entrepreneurial ventures, and participate in the global digital economy.

Project Implementation by SSD Academy

SSD Academy is implementing the ASSET Project in two training centers located in Cox’s Bazar District.

SSD Academy – Cox’s Bazar Center

At the Cox’s Bazar Center, SSD Academy is delivering training in two industry-relevant occupations that support both traditional industries and the rapidly growing digital economy.

Block Batik and Screen Printing

BNQF Level: 02

This occupation focuses on developing practical skills in textile design and printing techniques commonly used in the handicraft, textile, and garment industries of Bangladesh.

The training program provides hands-on experience in various printing techniques and production processes that enable trainees to work in the local garment sector or establish small businesses in textile printing.

Key Training Components

  • Fundamentals of textile printing and fabric preparation

  • Block printing techniques and pattern creation

  • Screen printing methods and equipment usage

  • Color mixing and design composition

  • Fabric finishing and quality control

  • Small-scale entrepreneurship and production management

After completing the course, trainees can work in textile factories, handicraft production units, garment printing industries, or establish their own screen printing or block printing businesses.

Digital Marketing for Freelancing

BNQF Level: 03

Digital marketing has become one of the most in-demand professional skills in the global digital economy. This training program prepares participants to become professional digital marketers and freelancers capable of working with international clients.

The course focuses on both technical marketing skills and freelancing marketplace strategies.

Key Training Components

  • Fundamentals of digital marketing and online business

  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques

  • Social Media Marketing (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)

  • Content marketing and blog promotion

  • Email marketing campaigns

  • Google Ads and Facebook advertising

  • Freelancing marketplace training (Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer)

SSD Academy – Moheshkhali Center

The Moheshkhali Center of SSD Academy is implementing training in one highly demanded digital creative occupation that supports the global freelancing industry.

Graphic Design for Freelancing

BNQF Level: 03

Graphic design is an essential skill in the modern digital economy. This training program equips trainees with the skills required to create professional visual content for businesses, brands, and online platforms.

The course prepares participants to work as professional graphic designers and freelancers in the international marketplace.
