1. Executive Summary

Step Up Skill Development Academy (SSD Academy) successfully completed a 5-day Car Driving Training Program under the project “Youth and Women Empowerment through Skill Development and Social Enterprise for Marginal Communities in Bangladesh.” The program was implemented in collaboration with Shushilan and funded by VSO Bangladesh.

The training took place from 9 August 2025 to 13 August 2025 in Nayapara, Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, and targeted marginalized youth and women seeking employment opportunities through vocational skill development.

A total of 10 participants successfully completed the program. Through a combination of practical driving sessions, theoretical lessons on vehicle systems, and road safety education, participants gained essential skills needed to pursue professional driving or transportation-related employment.

This training initiative contributed to enhancing employability, promoting economic empowerment, and supporting sustainable livelihoods for participants from vulnerable communities.

2. Project Background

Bangladesh continues to face challenges related to youth unemployment, limited access to vocational training, and restricted livelihood opportunities, particularly among marginalized and disadvantaged populations.

To address these challenges, VSO Bangladesh, through its development initiatives, supports programs that empower youth and women by providing market-relevant technical and vocational skills.

Under this initiative, Shushilan, a well-established development organization in Bangladesh, implemented the project titled “Youth and Women Empowerment through Skill Development and Social Enterprise.”

As part of the project activities, Step Up Skill Development Academy (SSD Academy) was engaged to conduct a professional car driving training program aimed at building practical driving skills, technical knowledge of automobiles, and road safety awareness.

The program was conducted based on the official work order issued by Shushilan for the successful implementation of the training.
